PEARLS LIE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RIVER is a series of four photographic reliefs. The title refers to a recurring mythological motif — a hidden treasure sought in the depths of seas, rivers, and caves. A metaphor for what lies within us, waiting to be discovered. Created specifically for the Vanguard Spa, the installation guides the viewer inward, like a passage along a wall of water. The central relief, visible from the pool, may evoke a Rorschach test, while the leftmost object suggests both a mountain peak and a womb. Though the imagery remains subtle, the material — prints on heavy steel plates — reflects the weight of the journey toward oneself.
